BETTER JOBS
Joy has put over 500,000 miles on her car traveling across Oklahoma where she’s seen firsthand that vibrant Main Streets, strong schools, and successful family farms are the lifeblood of many communities.
Many Oklahomans have shared that rising costs mean having a job (or three) is not enough. To support a family, Oklahomans need good jobs. As governor, Joy will:
- Remove the restriction on local governments to raise the minimum wage. Communities should be free to decide how much they value local workers.
- Invest in entrepreneurs from diverse communities right here in Oklahoma — cutting red tape, limiting bureaucracy, ending discrimination — and doing everything we can to promote fair, accessible opportunity.
- Ensure career and technical education starts as early as middle school, so kids graduate with real-world skills.
- Work hand in hand with business and labor leaders to address worker shortages and ensure our education programming aligns with workforce needs.
