Joy Hofmeister Launches summer-long Hometown Tour
OKLAHOMA CITY – Joy Hofmeister, candidate for governor, will launch a statewide
“Hometown Tour” at an event in her hometown of Tulsa, OK, on Sunday, May 15.
Families and friends have been invited to join her at Mother Road Market, 1124 S.
Lewis Avenue from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m
One month after officially filing for governor, Hofmeister’s Hometown Tour marks the
start of a new phase of her campaign. Tour stops are already planned in Bartlesville,
Bethany, Shawnee and Porter with more to come. She invites Oklahomans to send
invitations for visits to their hometowns by emailing hometown@joyforok.com.
On the tour, Hofmeister will talk with Oklahomans about her plans to address worker
shortages and rising costs, solve Oklahoma’s education crisis and create communities
where families are safe, healthy and supported.
Hofmeister announced her candidacy in October 2021 and is building a statewide
campaign infrastructure squarely focused on winning the general election
(announcement video link). Having raised over $1,000,000 without self-funding,
Hofmeister has the grassroots momentum needed to deliver change to Oklahoma.
“Like a lot of Oklahomans, I’m an independent thinker. I value faith, family and working
together to solve problems. But our current governor has lost sight of those Oklahoma
values we all hold dear,” said Hofmeister. “Instead of moving our state forward, we’re
stuck in a cycle of scandal and self-dealing. Stitt isn’t leading. He’s reading from a
national script. And I’m looking forward to talking with Oklahomans across the state
about the needs of their schools, businesses and hometowns.”
About the Hometown Tour
Joy Hofmeister, candidate for governor, has put over 500,000 miles on her SUV
traveling across the state to listen and learn from Oklahomans. As State
Superintendent, Hofmeister has used those thousands of miles and conversations to
solve real problems like repealing ineffective state exams, fighting for teacher pay raises
and defeating the governor’s voucher scheme. But there’s more work to do! In a state
where people are eager for new leadership, Hofmeister believes the Hometown Tour
will build a strong grassroots campaign of first-time and downcast voters alongside
bipartisan supporters who want to see change in Oklahoma. Hofmeister is a road
warrior who is committed to sharing her vision in all corners of the state and invites
Oklahomans to consider hosting her in their hometowns this summer. Invite the
campaign to your neck of the woods by emailing hometown@joyforok.com.
